Overview

 

Bill Wright Elementary School is a KN - 5th grade bilingual campus  with 40 classroom teachers, 3 Special Education Teachers, 3 Title I Intervention Specialists, and 6 Instructional Paraprofessionals.  Bill Wright Elementary School has a principal, an assistant principal, and a counselor that makes up the administrative staff.  Bill Wright Elementary has approximately 502 students.  

 

Our Diverse school family is composed 1.5% African American, 36.1% Hispanic, 59.1% white, 1.2% American Indian, .2% Asian, .2% Pacific Islanders, and 1.8% two or more races. 55.3% of our students are economically disadvantaged.  21.9% of our students are English Language Learners (ELL).  10.1% of our student are served by Special Education.  Our mobility rate is 15.3%.  

 

Bill Wright Elementary School is also home to the the award winning Brazos River Regional Day School Program for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.  Specialized instruction and enhanced services such as audiologist and specially trained teachers, ensure that our Deaf and Hard of Hearing students have every opportunity to excel in our school family.
