I am married and have three children, two boys and a little girl. My passion is for every student who comes through my door to find a love for learning. I try to accomplish this task with high expectations and goals combined with loving every one of my students without hesitation. I value the relationship building process with these kids. Through the love I have for kids, my students have returned that in naming our learning environment. With my last name being "Shaver" and the fact I generally don't shave... they have dubbed my classroom The Shave Cave. I hope that your child comes to love their time in The Shave Cave!
Homeroom Schedule:
Students are required to be at school from 7:50-3:30. Breakfast will be served in the cafeteria this year starting at 7:15, and our doors open at 7:00. Here is our schedule from start to finish each day. If possible, try to make doctor/dental appointments around lunch time to avoid students from missing core subject area classes (Math, Science, & Reading are all STAAR tested areas in 5th grade). Remember that students who are absent at the 9:30 attendance bell are counted absent for the day (state law). Our PLC Schedule are days where teachers are given extra time to collaborate and plan together. This happens once every 6 school days.
